PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Phantoms goaltender Scott Munroe made 30 saves as the Norfolk Admirals fell to the Philadelphia Phantoms 3-0 on Sunday evening at the Wachovia Spectrum in the 86th and final all-time meeting between the East Division rivals.
The Phantoms (42-29-2-4) netted all three of their goals in the opening period. Michael Ratchuk opened scoring with an end-to-end rush capped off by a forehand shot over the left leg of Norfolk (30-38-4-5) netminder Craig Kowalski at 7:27.
David Laliberte netted a shorthanded goal after poke-checking the puck loose at the Philadelphia blue line and sending a shot past Kowalski from the right circle at 9:16.
Laliberte netted his second goal of the period at 17:37 when he found the rebound of a Jonathan Matsumoto shot near the bottom of the left circle and sent a sharp-angle shot top-shelf, stick-side.
Craig Kowalski (31 shots, 28 saves) was saddled with the loss. Scott Munroe (30 shots, 30 saves) earned the shutout victory.
Both teams were 0-5 on the power play.
The Admirals will continue a season-ending four-game road trip on Wednesday night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Norfolk's all-time record against Philadelphia finishes at 43-33-2-6-2 (W-L-T-OTL-SOL) ... Norfolk was shut out for the sixth time this season and the first time since February 13 versus Hamilton ... After killing all five Phantoms power plays tonight, the Admirals have killed 30 of the last 31 (96.8%) and 51 of the last 56 (91.%) opponent power play chances.
