Petes Sink Steelheads in Shootout

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes returned to home ice after the holiday break for their last game of 2018, defeating the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 3-2 in a shootout.

Mississauga opened scoring in the first period before Detroit Red Wings prospect Cole Fraser netted his fourth goal of the season to tie the game at 1 early in the second period.

The Steelheads would restore their lead ahead of Arizona Coyotes prospect Liam Kirk scoring his twelfth goal of the campaign to tie the game at 2.

Chris Paquette and Erik ?ermák recorded assists on Peterborough's goals.

Nick Robertson was the only goal scorer in the shootout.

Hunter Jones turned away 30 of 32 shots, and stopped all three Mississauga shootout attempts. The Petes were 0/4 on the power play and 1/2 on the penalty kill.
