67's Open Road Trip with 5-2 Win over Generals
December 30, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's opened their short two-game road trip with a win in Oshawa on Sunday, defeating the Generals by a score of 5-2. Noel Hoefenmayer scored twice, while Graeme Clarke, Kody Clark and Jesse Dick (his first OHL goal) added the other goals for Ottawa. Cedrick Andree made 28 saves to gain his league-leading 22nd win of the season.
Ottawa scored the game's opening goal, with Jesse Dick finding the back of the net for the very first time in his OHL career only 4:25 minutes into the game. Graeme Clarke doubled his team's lead with his first goal since coming back from injury late in the opening frame.
Kody Clark scored his second goal in just as many games since coming back from an injury of his own, which ended up being the game-winning goal scored early in the second period.
The third period would be chippy and an emotional one. Sam Bitten dropped the gloves against Oshawa's Mitchell Brewer, a fight that seemed to get his teammates going, as Noel Hoefenmayer scored only 9 seconds following the tilt. Oshawa would keep things interesting, scoring twice in the third period, before Hoefenmayer took advantage of an empty net to get his 9th of the year, ending the game 5-2.
The 67's play their final game of 2018 tomorrow at 6 PM in Niagara, as they will be taking on the IceDogs at the Meridian Centre. The Barber Poles will be back on home ice on Saturday, January 5th, when they will be hosting the Barrie Colts at The Arena at TD Place.
