Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON) - Cameron Butler's 18th goal of the season was the game winner in a 5-4 victory over the Colts in Barrie on Saturday night.

Barrie jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but goals by Ryan Merkley (12, 13), Nick Robertson (25), Zach Gallant (12), and Butler were enough to lift the Petes over the Colts.

Gallant, Robertson, Merkley, Liam Kirk, Michael Little, Adam Timleck, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, and Brady Hinz all registered single assists.

Goaltender Hunter Jones stopped 25 of 29 Barrie shots. The Petes were 2/3 on the power play and 4/7 on the penalty kill. Merkley was named the game's first star.

The Petes are one win or one Colts loss away from clinching a spot in the 2019 post-season.
