Peter Vandermeer Assigned To Utah By Abbotsford

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the AHL's Abbotsford Heat have assigned veteran forward Peter Vandermeer to Utah.

The Grizzlies have an affiliation agreement with the Calgary Flames and their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Vandermeer, 34, and a veteran of 802 professional games, including 613 in the AHL and two in the NHL joins Utah after tallying two goals, two assists and 91 penalty minutes in 20 games this year with Abbotsford. He made his NHL debut February 10, 2008 with Phoenix against Nashville.

The Alberta native last played in the ECHL in 2001-2002 with Trenton. In 128 career ECHL games, he has totaled 43 goals and 49 assists for 92 points and 897 penalty minutes.

Vandermeer will be in the lineup Friday when the Grizzlies return to the E-Center to host Stockton. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
