
Peter Gammons to headline All-Star event

June 30, 2005 - BROCKTON - The Brockton Rox have announced that Peter Gammons will be the featured speaker at the Can-Am League All-Star Luncheon on July 19th at the Shaw's Center in Brockton. The "Meet the Stars" Luncheon - presented by Century 21, Franklin Sports, Rockland Trust and The Enterprise - will also include introductions of the Can-Am League and Central League All-Stars.
Tickets are $55 per person and $550 for a table of 10 people. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
"Peter Gammons is the leading baseball analyst in the business," said Rox General Manager David Sacchetti. "We're thrilled to be able to bring the Can-Am League All-Star game such a terrific speaker and we're sure fans will love him."
Gammons serves as a studio analyst on ESPN's Baseball Tonight. He also provides Diamond Notes, his regular reports during the baseball season for SportsCenter. Besides working for ESPN, Gammons contributes to the Boston Globe and to Baseball America. He's been voted National Sportswriter of the Year three times by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
Following the "Meet the Stars" Luncheon, the All-Star game between the Can-Am League and the Central League will begin at 7:05 p.m. at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with a skills competition to follow shortly thereafter. Fans will also be treated to a spectacular fireworks display after the game.
