Worcester Tornadoes News Release

Worcester, MA -- Worcester Tornadoes Catcher Patrick Perry has been named to the Can-Am League Postseason All-Star Team, as voted upon by the ten league field managers and media representatives.

Perry is having a tremendous '07 campaign. The Worcester backstop was named Can-Am League Batter of the Week for the week of 7/2-7/8, in which he hit .381 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. Perry was later named Can-Am League Batter of the Month for the month of July, the first Tornadoes player to ever win a monthly award. It was well-deserved, as he hit .360 with 5 home runs and 25 RBIs during the month. Perry's outstanding season has also included two walkoff hits (an RBI double in the bottom of the 9th to beat New Jersey, 6-5, on 7/8 and a three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th to defeat Nashua on 7/31) and a 12-game hitting streak from 7/30-8/11. Perry currently leads the Tornadoes in on-base percentage (.383) and is second on the team in batting average (.313), home runs (7), and RBIs (49).
