Quebec 2, Nashua 1 (10 innings)

SS Ivan Naccarata's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning scored 2B Takayoshi Uchida and lifted the Quebec Capitales to a huge win over the Nashua Pride and kept their playoff hopes alive. LF Boomer Berry went 2-for-5 with a run scored to lead the Capitales offensively. Quebec reliever Cristian Mendoza got the win, his first of the season, by pitching a scoreless 10th inning and striking out a batter. For the Pride in the losing cause, RF John Ramistella went 3-for-5 and plated the only run, a solo home run in the top of the first inning.

Brockton 6, New Haven County 4

The Brockton Rox scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and cruised from there to beat the New Haven County Cutters. Brockton 1B Francisco Lebron and 3B Melvin Falu each had 1-for-4 nights with Lebron driving in three runs and Falu scoring a run and driving in a pair. Rox starter Mike McTamney notched the win going seven innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits with five strikeouts. He improved his record to 5-10 on the season. Brockton closer Amad Stephens gave up a run in the ninth inning but held on to collect his ninth save of the year.

North Shore 9, New Jersey 8

HR: NJ-Marcos Rodriguez (2), Wilton Veras (5); NS-Vic Davilla (5)

For the second straight night, the North Shore Spirit rallied again in the bottom of the ninth inning plating two runs and beating the New Jersey Jackals in dramatic fashion. With the win and the Atlantic City loss to the Grays, the Spirit now have a magic number of two to clinch the second half title. LF Vic Davilla had a monster night at the plate for North Shore going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Davilla also hammered his second home run in as many nights. C Alex Trezza chipped with two hits in four at-bats along with scoring a run and driving in one. Donny Langdon picked up the win in relief for the Spirit. He is now 2-1 on the season.

Sussex 7, Worcester 6

Sussex scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to overcome a 6-4 deficit and went on from there to beat the Worcester Tornadoes by a run. The Tornadoes had a 5-0 lead after the first inning and a 6-2 cushion after four innings but in the end could not hold it. CF Ron Perodin and 1B Jabe Bergeron each had 3-for-5 nights at the dish with Perodin scoring three times. Jamie Merchant for Sussex pitched a complete game allowing six earned runs on eight hits with six punchouts to collect his third win of the season. C Mike DeCarlo went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI for the Tornadoes.

Grays 6, Atlantic City 5 (11 innings)

@ Atlantic City, NJ. Time: 3:17 Attendance: 1,511

The Grays pushed across a run in the bottom of the 11th inning to edge the Atlantic City Surf. The Surf had a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning. However, the Grays would score a run in the seventh inning, two more in the eighth and two more in the ninth to tie the score at 5-5 and send the game into extra innings. 2B Josh Colafemina, who drove in the game winning run, SS Charles Jeroloman and LF Chad Gabriel each had two hit nights for the Grays. Grays C JB Tucker hit his second home run in as many nights to aid the offense. Tony O'Donnell pitched a scoreless top of the 11th inning to notch the victory. He improved his record to 5-1 on the year.
