
Perrin and Ulmer sign AHL contracts with camp less than 48 hours away

HERSHEY â The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that center Eric Perrin and right wing Jeff Ulmer have signed American Hockey League contracts with the club for the 2004-05 season. The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Perrin led HERSHEY in scoring during 2003-04 with 21 goals and 54 assists for 75 points. He was also leading the AHL in scoring at the time of his recall to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning on March 27. After playing in four regular season games for the Lightning, Perrin saw action in 12 Stanley Cup playoff games, recording his first NHL point during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Philadelphia.
Ulmer played in Europe during the 2003-04 season after playing for the AHL's Binghamton Senators in 2002-03. He was a teammate of both Chris Bala and Dennis Bonvie while playing for the B-Sens, and also scored the first goal in Binghamton Senators history on October 11, 2002.
Perrin and Ulmer will be on hand with the rest of their HERSHEY teammates when the team opens training camp on Wednesday, September 29 at GIANT Center. Practice will begin at 10 a.m., with all BEARS players and coaches available for interviews approximately 11:45 a.m.
HERSHEY will play its only home exhibition game on Sunday, October 3 at GIANT Center against the Binghamton Senators. Binghamton has announced previously in a news release that NHL standout goaltender Dominik Hasek will attend AHL training camp with the club for two weeks beginning on September 26.
The BEARS will also play their final exhibition game of the 2004 preseason at Reading's Sovereign Center on Saturday, October 9. Tickets for the game are available by calling (610) 898-7825. Discounts for BEARS and Reading Royals season ticket holders are available.

The BEARS open the 2004-05 season on Friday, October 15 at Norfolk before opening the home schedule the following night on Saturday, October 16.
