
Perez, Payne and Russolino Named OurSports Central XFL Players of the Week

Arlington Renegades
Arlington Renegades quarterback Luis Perez, Renegades linebacker Donald Payne, and Arlington kicker Taylor Russolino were named the OurSports Central XFL Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Unsung Hero of the Week, respectively, for the XFL Championship.
Perez completed 26 of 36 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns and added 10 rushing yards in the Renegades' 35-26 upset of the D.C. Defenders. His favorite target was wide receiver Tyler Vaughns who caught eight throws for 83 yards and one touchdown.
Perez's hot hand continued from the South Division Championship were he had similar stats of 289 yards and three touchdown passes.
Perez's first touchdown pass of the XFL Championship was his longest throw of the game at 41 yards as he hit tight end Sal Canella for an early lead.
Honorable mention goes to Defenders wide receiver Josh Hammond who caught six passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Hammond's longest catch of the game covered 72 yards from quarterback Jordan Ta'amu late in the third quarter:
Payne led a Renegades defensive effort with seven total tackles and helped put pressure on Defenders Ta'amu most of the night.
Honorable mention goes to the three Arlington cornerbacks who intercepted passes in the game: Brandon Rusnak, Cre'Von LeBlanc and Joe Powell.
Powell's interception in the second quarter kept D.C. off the board.
Russolino finished a perfect three-for-three on field goal attempts of 29, 51 and 33 yards, accounting for the nine-point margin in the game.
Russolino finished the XFL season connecting on 21 of 24 field goal attempts with a long of 56 yards. The much-traveled kicker has played for several teams in different leagues including:
