St. Louis Battlehawks quarterback A.J. McCarron, Houston Roughnecks linebacker Tavante Beckett, and D.C. Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta'amu were named the OurSports Central XFL Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Unsung Hero of the Week, respectively, for week ten of the XFL season.
McCarron completed 28 of 35 passes for 420 yards and six touchdowns and added nine rushing yards in the Battlehawks' 53-28 win over the Orlando Guardians. The XFL-record 53 points scored by the Battlehawks earned McCarron Offensive Player of the Week for a third time this season. His favorite target was wide receiver Hakeem Butler who caught nine throws for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
McCarron hit Butler with this score in the second quarter:
Honorable mention goes to Seattle quarterback Ben DiNucci who completed 26 of 41 passes for 339 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions with 41 rushing yards and another score in the Sea Dragons' 28-9 crushing of the Vegas Vipers, earning them a playoff berth in the North Division Championship at the D.C. Defenders on Sunday.
On the defensive side of the ball, Beckett contributed six total tackles, one pass defended and one interception which he returned 45 yards for a touchdown in the Roughnecks' 25-9 victory over the Dallas Renegades, ending Houston's regular season on a three-game winning streak.
Beckett played college football at Marshall and participated in four games for the Detroit Lions during the 2021 season.
Beckett's interception off Renegades quarterback Luis Perez in the third quarter gave him defensive touchdowns in back-to-back weeks.
Honorable mention goes to Sea Dragons defensive end Daniel Joseph who finished with five total tackles and one sack in Sea Dragons' win.
Ta'amu scrambled for a game-tying, four-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter then added the game-winning, one-point conversion from the two-yard line in the Defenders' 29-28 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas.
Ta'amu's score and conversion gave the Defenders their ninth victory of the season, and a $1,000 win bonus for the players on the team:
