PEORIA, IL- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs have announced that leadoff hitter and Midwest League steals leader Tony Campana has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Daytona of the Florida State League. In return Daytona has sent outfielder Drew Rundle to the Chiefs.

Campana led off in 12 of his 13 Chiefs starts this season hitting .283 (15-for-53) with 14 runs scored, five RBI, five walks and a MWL-leading 11 stolen bases. Campana had a pair of three-hit games including Wednesday night when he went 3-for-3 with a triple, two walks, three runs scored, two steals and a RBI. He collected two stolen bases in three separate games and was only caught twice by MWL catchers. In the leadoff spot, Campana batted .306 and played in centerfield in all but one game. He was drafted by the Cubs in the 13th round of last June's draft out of the University of Cincinnati where he played alongside current Chiefs infielder Josh Harrison.

Rundle was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 14th round of the 2006 draft out of Bend High School in Oregon. Rundle has appeared in 15 games for Daytona this season batting .190 (8-for-42) with four RBI, two doubles and three runs scored. He began the 2008 season with the Chiefs, went down to Class-A Short Season Boise, returned to the Chiefs in July and then finished the season with Daytona. In 21 Midwest League games last season the 21-year-old hit .164 with two homers, five doubles, four RBI and nine runs scored. He had the most success with Boise where Rundle batter .292 with eight homers, 22 doubles, 36 RBI and 45 runs scored in 53 games last summer.
