Windsor, CO 2/24/10 - Colorado goaltender Andrew Penner earned his first shutout of the season, helping the Eagles grab a 3-0 win over the Amarillo Gorillas Wednesday night.

Despite out shooting the Eagles 9-5, Amarillo and Colorado played a scoreless opening period. Amarillo 0 Colorado 0 after the first.

Colorado found the back of the Amarillo net at the 1:05 mark when defenseman Aaron Schneekloth ripped his shot from the near circle for his 22nd goal on the year. Seven minutes and thirty-five seconds later, Eagles defenseman Jim Jackson torched his shot from the same spot past Gorillas netminder Mike Brown. Amarillo was not able to convert on two power-play opportunities and went to the locker room down 2-0.

Eagles forward added a tally at the 11:24 mark while Colorado goaltender Andrew Penner earned his first shutout on the season (two last season). Final score Colorado 3 Amarillo 0.

The Gorillas continue their six-game road trip Friday, February 26th at the Odessa Jackalopes. The game broadcast will start at 6:55pm CST and can be followed on 1440 AM ESPN Radio and CHL-TV. Fans will have an opportunity to win an autographed photo of goaltender Tuomas Lohtander during the second period of the game broadcast by answering a trivia question on the Gorillas' Facebook page.
