Reading Royals News Release

The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, are proud to announce that at last night's City Council meeting, Mayor Thomas M. McMahon proclaimed this week, "Patrick J. Kelly Cup Week" in Reading in honor of the Reading Royals first place standing in the ECHL North Division.

To commemorate this proclamation, Mayor McMahon will designate Penn Street, between 3rd and 8th Streets in Downtown Reading, "Kelly Cup Drive," as long as the Royals are in the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs. On Wednesday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. the new "Kelly Cup" street signage will be unveiled at the corner of 5th and Penn Streets.

Prior to the Royals opening round playoff battle with the Toledo Storm, a "Spring Snowstorm" will strike downtown Reading. On Thursday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. the "Spring Snowstorm" will hit 3rd and Penn Streets. This isolated storm will signify the start of the North Division Semifinals.
