
Mississippi Announces Top Players In April

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced today that center Louis Dumont has been named the organization's Player of the Month for April, defenseman Mike Jarmuth is the Rookie of the Month, while Phil Sauve takes the Goaltender of the Month honors.
In seven regular season games during April, the Sea Wolves compiled a 2-2-3 record for a .500 winning percentage.
Dumont, 32, led Mississippi in April with seven points by scoring two goals and notching five assists. A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Dumont finished the regular season by leading the Sea Wolves with five game-winning goals, 46 assists and 66 points. The ECHL all-time leader in assists with 511 is also ranked first overall with 820 points in league history. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound Dumont is in his 11th season in the ECHL and professional hockey and second season with the Sea Wolves.
Jarmuth, 23, netted two goals and four assists in seven games this month to finish up the regular season. While appearing in all 72 games, the native of Monkton, Ontario, wrapped up his first full professional campaign with 13 goals, 23 assists and 36 points, which are all team records for a rookie defenseman. Named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, the 6-foot and 205-pound Jarmuth attended the 2004 American Hockey League training camp of the Rochester Americans.
Sauve, 25, appeared in five games in April, going 2-1-2 with one shutout, a 2.13 goals-against average and .931 save percentage. The 6-foot and 195-pound Sauve tied the team record with a .923 save percentage this season, while sporting a 13-4-4 record and 2.59 goals-against average in 21 games. In his fifth season of professional hockey, Sauve signed as a free agent on January 26.
Mississippi opens the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs at 6:05 p.m. tomorrow on the road against the Gwinnett Gladiators for Game 1 of the best-of-five American Conference Quarterfinals at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.
