LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13: PENGUINS 4, Senators 2...
Colin McDonald found the back net of twice to help Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 4-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators and the 500 th regular season win in team history.
Zach Sill's tip-in goal at 8:01 of the third was the game-winner for the Penguins as Binghamton managed all of its offense during a pair of two-man advantages.
Brad Thiessen stopped 22 out of 24 shots for the Penguins.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16: Penguins 3, CRUNCH 2...
Brandon DeFazio potted two goals and Scott Munroe made 34 saves as the Penguins won their fourth straight contest with a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch.
DeFazio bulleted a shot to the back of the net with 1:46 left in regulation for his fifth of the year and the eventual game-deciding tally. Ryan Craig also scored for the victors.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's penalty kill was a perfect 6-for-6 against Syracuse.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17: PENGUINS 2, Admirals 5...
Five different players lit the lamp as the Norfolk Admirals ended the Penguins' winning streak, 5-2, at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
Goals by Bryan Lerg and Ben Street helped Wilkes-Barre/Scranton battle back from a 2-0 deficit, but Tyler Johnson's goal at 7:06 of the second period put the visitors back on top for good.
Brad Thiessen suffered the loss, stopping 10 of 13 shots in 47:06 of work. Scott Munroe came into the game in relief after Johnson's goal, but Thiessen returned to the net to start the third.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 19: PENGUINS 1, Devils 2...
Mike Hoeffel's first two goals of the season were the only offense the Albany Devils needed to defeat Wilkes- Barre/Scranton, 2-1, on Monday. It was the Devils franchise's first-ever win against the Penguins, who were undefeated through their first 14 meetings.
Ben Street's 2-on-1 tally evened the contest early in the third, but Hoeffel provided the game-winner with 4:38 remaining in the contest.
Scott Munroe's three-game winning streak came to end despite making 24 saves on 26 shots.
501 AND COUNTING...
Last Tuesday's triumph over the Binghamton Senators was the Penguins' 500 th regular season victory. Wilkes- Barre/Scranton reached the milestone in its 13 th season - the second fastest of the 30 teams currently in the AHL. Only the Hartford/Connecticut franchise achieved the feat quicker, notching number 500 in its 12 th season of play.
THE MUN-EY MAN...
Scott Munroe's three-game winning streak was snapped on Monday against Albany, but he still is tied for 10 th in the AHL with a 2.26 goals against average. He has allowed only six goals over his last four starts, including a shutout of the Binghamton Senators on December 7.
ICE CHIPS...
Ben Street has scored in five consecutive home games...Colin McDonald has registered points in each of his last five games, totaling three goals and four assists...Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is tied for the second-best road win total in the AHL with 12...Brandon DeFazio is tied for the rookie lead with three game-winning goals....Monday's loss to Albany was the Penguin's first in regulation this season when holding an opponent to fewer than three goals.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 7:00 PM: Penguins at BEARS
The Penguins renew their rival with the Bears with meeting seven and eight in the 12-game season series. Hershey (16-8-3-2) currently sits in a tie for first place in the East Division with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Norfolk. The Bears have won seven of their last nine, but had a three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday in a 6-3 loss against the Admirals.
Keith Aucoin (8g-39a-47pts) and Chris Bourque (16g-27a-47pts) remain number one and two in league scoring and assists. Hershey's top-ranked power play (31.3%) helps lead an offense that is tied for second in the AHL at 3.66 goals per game.
The Penguins have won eight straight at the Giant Center including a 4-2 victory on December 10. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton leads the season series 4-1-0-1.
SATURDAY, December 31, 5:05 PM: PENGUINS vs. Sound Tigers...
This will be first game out of four between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Bridgeport. The Sound Tigers (11-14-3-1) are in the midst of a six-game losing streak that has seen them fall below .500 and into fifth place in the Northeast Division.
Bridgeport is 2-2-0-0 against the East Division this season. The team is ranked 29 th in the league with 3.45 goals allowed per game. The Sound Tigers are the only team in the league that has a losing record when leading after the first period (2-3-0-1). Nino Niederreiter is on a three-game road goal scoring streak.
The Penguins are 26-19-0-6-3 all-time against the Sound Tigers.
