Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Wednesday that they have recalled center Brandon Pirri from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Pirri, 20, earns his second recall to Chicago in 2011-12 as the second-year center skated in the Blackhawks season opener in Dallas on Oct. 17 and registered his first NHL point with an assist. Pirri also appeared in one game with Chicago in 2010-11.
Chicago's second round selection (#59 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Pirri leads Rockford in scoring with 31 points and 13 goals this season. The Toronto native is currently riding his third five-game point streak of the season and ranks seventh overall in the AHL in scoring.
Over his past 46 games with Rockford dating back to March 8, Pirri has totaled 17g-32a-49pts. Before turning pro, Pirri played one season with RPI (NCAA) and accumulated 11g-32a-43pts in 32 games with the Engineers.
