Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have reassigned goalie Brian Foster to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) have reassigned Anton Zlobin from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to Wheeling, and Derek Army has been released from his professional tryout contract.
Foster, 28, has appeared in seven games this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 3.60 goals against average and .854 save percentage. The sixth-year pro recorded his first career AHL shutout with 30 saves in a 3-0 Penguins win at Syracuse on Dec. 19, 2015.
In 15 games with the Nailers this season, Foster has a 7-7-0-1 record, a 2.97 goals against average, and .903 save percentage.
Zlobin was recalled from Wheeling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the first time this season on Feb. 5, 2016, and made an instant impact with the Penguins by scoring three points (1G-2A) in his first two games with the club. The Moscow, Russia native has three goals and two assists for five points in 12 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this year.
Zlobin boasts 19 points (8G-11A) in 26 games this season with the Nailers, and had a career-best eight-game point streak spanning Dec. 31, 2015 - Jan. 17, 2016.
Army completes his PTO with the Penguins having scored four points (2G-2A) in 13 games. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was the third AHL team that Army played for this season, after the Portland Pirates and the Ontario Reign. The second-year pro recorded his first multi-goal game in the AHL as a member of the Penguins on Feb. 9, 2016 at Utica.
Army will report to the Nailers. The native of North Kingston, R.I. has seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points this year in Wheeling.
The Penguins' next home game is Saturday, Mar. 12 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Individual tickets for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton games can be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza box office, through all Ticketmaster outlets, or by contacting the Penguins directly at (570) 208-7367.
