
Penguins Announce Roster Moves

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have returned forward Chris Barton on loan to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. In addition, defensemen Peter Merth and Dan Henningson were released from their professional tryout agreements. Merth will also return to the Nailers, while Henningson heads back to the Chicago Express (ECHL).
The reigning ECHL Rookie of the Month, Barton was held scoreless in three appearances with the Penguins. The 24-year old native of Calgary has registered 26 points (15g-11a) over 21 games during his rookie season with the Nailers. Barton compiled seven goals and eight assists in 10 games during the month of November.
During his four games in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Merth picked up an assist for his first AHL point. Now in his second year as a pro, Merth has posted two assists and 11 penalty minutes in 13 games with the Nailers.
Henningson returns to the Express where the third-year pro has recorded a goal, two assists and eight penalty minutes in 18 games this season. Henningson posted an assist while skating in five games for the Penguins.
