CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to this evening's contest against the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Right-hander Felix Pena has been placed on the Disabled List with a left calf strain. In six starts with the Smokies after being promoted from High-A Daytona, the 24-year-old has posted a 2-4 record and 7.48 ERA (23 ER in 27.2 IP).
In a corresponding move, right-hander Lendy Castillo has been activated from the Disabled List. Over 35 appearances with Tennessee this year, the 25-year-old has accumulated a 1-1 record with one save and a 3.79 ERA (17 ER in 40.1 IP), adding 40 strikeouts.
Tennessee's active roster stands at 25, in addition to LHP Felix Doubront on his Major League Rehab Assignment, and a revised roster is attached.
The Smokies and Lookouts are set to face off in the second game of their five-game series to finish the 2014 campaign on Friday evening at AT&T Field in Chattanooga, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tennessee is expected to give the ball to RHP Corey Black (6-7, 3.26), while Chattanooga is anticipated to send RHP Nick Struck (5-6, 5.22) to the hill.
