
Pelicans Sweep Double Dip, Extend Win Streak to Three

Pensacola Pelicans News Release
The Pensacola Pelicans extended their winning streak to three games tonight as they took both games of a double header against the Shreveport Sports. Pensacola has now won five of their last seven games.
In game one, Pelicans starting pitcher Colin Young picked up his 2nd win of the season in a gutsy five inning outing in where he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 7. Pensacola scored two runs in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd. Trino Aguilar, Bo Williams, Chris Reynolds, and Michael DeCarlo all had 2-hit games. Aguilar had a solo-home run in the 3rd inning. Shreveport tried to mount a come back, scoring one run in innings 4, 5, and 6.
Pelicans closer Hunter Davis came in to pitch the final inning, striking out one, to secure the victory for the Pels.
In inning number two of the second game, the Pelicans scored two runs on two hits including a double from Reynolds. Shreveport scored one in the second and two in the third, holding the lead until the 5th inning.
Marcos Rodriguez gave the Pelicans the lead with a two-RBI double to center field that scored Nathan Warrick and Ricardo Cordova. Rodriguez came into score off of JD Reininger's 4th home run of the season. The Sports added two more runs in the 7th before Hunter Davis came into shut the door and record his 5th save on the season.
