Diablos Beat Up St. Joe's, 8-2

El Paso took the early lead in the top of the first. Kory Drew smacked a single to right with one out. Two batters later Juan Camacho drilled a shot to deep left field scoring Drew on the double for the 1-0 advantage.

Dustin Bolton escaped a jam in the top of the third. Albenis Machado and Jorge Alvarez each singled putting runners on first and second. However, Bolton induced Camacho into a fly out and Walter Olmstead struck out to erase the jam.

The Blacksnakes tied the game in the bottom of the third. Curt Miaso led off the inning with a double. Casey Gordon then bunted a ball to the mound which Neitz gloved and threw into left field trying to get out Miaso at third. Miaso scored and Gordon advanced to second base on the error. Neitz would strike out two out of the next three batters ending the jam.

The Diablos plated a runner in the top of the fourth. Matt Kent led things off with a towering double to deep right center field. Jordan Belcher ripped a single through the right side scoring Kent for the 2-1 advantage.

El Paso erupted for three runs in the top of the fifth. Matt Kent picked up a big two-RBI double in the three-run frame. The Diablos added an extra run in the top of the sixth.off of a Kory Drew RBI single.

The Diablos scored at least six runs for the eighth consecutive game.

The Diablos will wrap up their three game series with the St. Joe Blacksnakes on Thursday night at 6:05 PM MST. Robbie Wachman will toss for the Diablos. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1380 AM as well as www.diablos.com with Jon Barr on the call.
