Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
- RHP Wilfredo Boscan (2-3, 4.78) at LHP Drake Britton (1-7, 7.19) -
REMEMBER ME': Pelicans first baseman Chris McGuiness victimized a lot of former teammates with Monday night's two-hit, four RBI effort. "Mac" was a member of the Boston system from his draft selection in the 13th round of 2009 until the trade deadline deal that sent him, along with RHP Roman Mendez and C Michael Thomas, to the Rangers in exchange for former Pelicans catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. McGuiness went into Monday night with 16 RBIs and added a quarter of that total in the Pelicans' victory.
ROCKETING UP: Toledo product Jared Hoying, the reigning Northwest League MVP for his brilliant freshman campaign with the Spokane Indians last year, is starting to find himself in the dog days of his first full professional season. The outfielder from Ft. Loramie, Ohio is batting .324 over his last eight games and .348 over his last five. Hoying tripled home a run in Myrtle Beach's five-run sixth yesterday.
