SPLITSVILLE: Tuesday's doubleheader split for the Pelicans is the Birds' third in four doubleheaders in 2011. Myrtle Beach split a twinbill with the P-Nats in their first such day of the year back on April 27. After a DH sweep of the Kinston Indians on May 11 in which the Pelicans outscored the Tribe 8-0, Myrtle Beach also split with the Winston-Salem Dash on May 18 at BB&T Ballpark.

ACE OF BASE: With hits in each of Tuesday's contests, Ryan Strausborger extended his on-base streak to 25 consecutive games. The Carolina League All-Star's run began May 19 in Winston-Salem and has now equaled the longest streak in the circuit this season. Tyler Holt of Kinston had a 25-game run in May. Strausborger is batting .333 with a .379 on base percentage during the streak. Ryan has also hit safely in 14 straight games, the Pelicans' longest streak of the season. The longest hitting streaks in the Carolina League in 2011 now belong to Strausborger, Ian Gac of Winston-Salem and Salem's Peter Hissey, who both also ran up 14-game streaks in April.
