June 15, 2011 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Lynchburg Hillcats News Release

Lynchburg, VA- The Carolina League announced today that Hillcats outfielder Adam Milligan will be added to the All-Star team as a reserve outfielder. He is replacing injured teammate Todd Cunningham on the team.

Milligan, selected in the sixth round of the 2008 draft, will make his first professional all-star appearance. He is hitting .273 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI in 51 games this season. His 10 home runs are tied for third-most in the Carolina League and he leads the Hillcats in RBI.

Milligan missed nine games in May with a hamstring injury. Since coming off of the disabled list on May 17, he has hit .314, raising his overall batting average 49 points. His RBI totals have also increased dramatically. When he hit the DL, he only had 10 RBI, and has 24 since returning to the lineup. He has also drawn 12 walks in the span after taking just two free passes in his first 23 games prior to the injury. He's come through in the clutch for the Hillcats as well. On June 6, against Salem, he hit a walk-off single to give Lynchburg a 5-4 win.

He will be joining teammates Joey Terdoslavich and Andrelton Simmons on the Carolina League squad. They will represent the league, and Lynchburg, on June 21 in the annual California/Carolina League All-Star Game in Modesto, CA.
