Pelicans Form Trade Agreement with Nashua Pride of Can-Am League

The Pensacola Pelicans announced today a trade agreement with the Nashua Pride of the Can-Am League. Nashua receives first baseman and designated hitter Larry Bethea in exchange for a 2007 first round draft pick and financial considerations.

"I would like to thank Larry for what he has done for this organization and the community over the past couple years," said Pelicans general manager Talmadge Nunnari. "It's always tough to lose a key player but this is a good move for Larry. He has the chance to go to Nashua and make an immediate impact and play every day."

In his third season with the Pelicans, Bethea is hitting .298 with 10 doubles, 7 homeruns, 36 RBI, 9 stolen bases, and has scored 30 runs.

The Pelicans return to Pensacola for a three-game series against the Shreveport Sports on Thursday, August 3 at 6:35 p.m. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, Friday is the Pelicans Team Card Set Giveaway, and the Pelicans present post-game fireworks on Saturday, August 5.
