ST. PAUL, MN - Adam Olow had two hits as the St. Paul Saints defeated Sioux City, 7-3, Tuesday night at Midway Stadium. The game was called after eight innings due to rain.
Olow now has a 13-game hitting streak, the longest by any St. Paul player this season.
Jose Torres went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI as St. Paul won its second game in a row to improve to 12-13 in the second North Division race, 42-32 overall. Brian Sprout, the AA Batter Of The Month also had two doubles as part of a 12-hit St. Paul attack.
The game was tied at 3 when Nick Gretz singled home Torres with the go-ahead run. The Saints added another in the inning on a throwing error and single tallies int he sixth and seventh to put the game out of reach.
Justin Lord went the first 5.1 innings to get the win and improve his record to 9-2. Matt Hammons earned a league-leading 18th save. Tom Lipari (6-7) went the first four innings and took the loss for the Explorers.
The game was delayed two hours by rain. The same teams meet again Wednesday at Midway at 1:05 p.m.
