Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
Playing arguably their best baseball of the season, the PawSox finished a sweep of Rochester with a 6-3 victory on Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field. The win let Pawtucket finish their last long road trip of 2010 with an 8-2 mark. Overall, the PawSox have won a season high, 6 in a row. The win moves the season mark to 62-74. The miseries of the Red Wings have become epic, as they fall to a season low 40 games under .500 (48-88) for the year.
Adam Mills (4-9) outdueled his former teammate Chris Province. Province was traded to Minnesota in the Boof Bonser deal last offseason. Tommy Hottovy, Robert Coello and Fernando Cabrera mopped up for Mills.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia ignited the Pawtucket offense with a three run homer in the first inning. Lars Anderson added a pair of rbi singles and Bubba Bell knocked in the other PawSox run. Eric Patterson had a double and triple, a stolen base and he scored three runs. Josh Reddick singled in the ninth to extend his personal hitting streak to 7 games.
The two clubs head east to resume their series at McCoy Stadium. Game one of the two game series is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Monday. Matt Fox (6-8, 4.08) faces Rich Hill (2-0, 3.57).
