Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, notched a 3-2 come-from-behind victory in their series finale with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs Sunday afternoon at Alliance Bank Stadium. The Chiefs won 12 out of their 16 meetings with Lehigh Valley this season.

The IronPigs got on the scoreboard first after putting together a two-run inning. John Mayberry's line drive to left fell just out of Boomer Whiting's reach, allowing Mayberry to reach on a two-out single. Andy Tracy launched a two-run homer to right in the next at bat for his 19th of the year.

Tracy's home run gave Lehigh Valley a 2-0 lead that they would hold onto until the fourth. Boomer Whiting led off the frame with a long fly ball to center. The ball landed ahead of outfielder Rich Thompson and Whiting hustled into third for a leadoff triple. Danny Espinosa's groundball to second base in the next at bat brought Whiting home from third with Syracuse's first run, cutting the Lehigh Valley lead to one.

The Chiefs got to IronPigs starter Vance Worley for two runs in the seventh to gain a 3-2 lead. Wilson Ramos opened the inning by driving a single to right field. He advanced to second on a fielding error by Lehigh Valley rightfielder Greg Dobbs, putting the tying run in scoring position with no outs. Pete Orr's single to center two batters later scored pinch-runner Yuneski Maya from second, tying the game at 2-2. In the next at bat Michael Martinez poked a double into the left field corner to score Orr all the way from first, giving Syracuse its first lead of the night.

Atahualpa Severino worked a scoreless seventh and eight to record his fifth win. He gave up two hits and a walk, while striking out two.
