IronPigs Prepare to Take On Syracuse Sunday

The fifth-place IronPigs (53-82) play the finale a three-game series -- and season finale -- against the third-place Syracuse Chiefs (69-65) -- Washington's top affiliate. With a 6-4 win in Game Two last night (after losing Game One, 4-3), the Pigs snapped their five-game losing streak and improved to 1-3 on this five-game North Division road trip. Though they have managed a 7-8 record in their last 15 games, the Pigs are just 9-24 (.273) in their last 33 affairs... The Chiefs just split their last four contests after sweeping the two-game series in Allentown. Once 54-43 on July 20, Syracuse has gone 15-22 (.405) in its last 37 affairs. In fact, since they last played in Lehigh Valley on July 2, the Chiefs have gone from first place in the North Division to third place and 12.5 GB.

In a rematch of a 5-4 SYR win on 8/24, RHP Vance Worley (1-2, 3.82) will start for LHV against LHP Matt Chico (6-7, 3.78).

First-pitch is at 5:00 p.m. Alliance Bank Stadium... The Pigs next return home for a two-game series vs. SWB.
