Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The PawSox trumped Syracuse on Thursday afternoon 11-7, completing a four game sweep of the Chiefs. In the process, Pawtucket finished its' first road trip of 2012 with a 7-2 mark. Pawtucket (10-5) erupted for three runs in the third and four more in the fifth. Will Middlebrooks continued his attack on I.L. pitchers. The third baseman had an RBI single in the first and a three run homer in the third. Alex Hassan added three doubles and 2 RBI. Pawtucket took advantage of four errors by Carlos Rivero and Josh Johnson (Two each). Every player in the Pawtucket lineup, had at least one hit. In the fifth inning, the PawSox strung together 4 consecutive doubles.
Starter Alex Wilson didn't figure in the decision. The right hander labored through three and two thirds innings. Andrew Miller made another M.L. rehab appearance (hamstring). The lefty walked the bases loaded in the sixth, but didn't allow a run. Chorye Spoon earned the win.
The PawSox return to McCoy for a 6 game homestand that begins on Friday at 6:15 p.m. Durham sends Matt Torra (1-1) to the mound. He faces Doug Mathis (0-1).
