Patterson Records Second Shutout

February 14, 2014 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Denver Cutthroats News Release

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats hosted the St. Charles Chill on Friday, February 14 at the Denver Coliseum. The Cutthroats defeated the Chill 1-0 in what turned out to be a defensive struggle.

With less than two minutes remaining in the opening period, Sean Zimmerman (Vincent Arseneau, Kyle Fletcher) scored the only goal of the night with a shot to the back of the Chill's net. A great hustle play by Arseneau set up the goal as he outraced and outmaneuvered a Chill defender and centered the puck for Zimmerman.

Goaltender Kent Patterson recorded his 18th win and second shutout on the season. Patterson stopped 30 of 30 shots on goal as he and the Cutthroats defense survived three Chill power plays in the final period and five overall to come out victorious 1-0.

The Denver Cutthroats and St. Charles Chill will face off for the final time in the 2013-14 regular season series on Saturday, February 15 at the Denver Coliseum. Friends, family and fans are invited to celebrate the Cutthroats Wedding on Ice Saturday night during first intermission. For ticket information, visit DenverCutthroats.com or call 866.464.2626.
