Patterson Debuts with Goal in Silvertips' Win

EVERETT, Wash. - Bryce Kindopp recorded a goal and assist, Dustin Wolf turned away 25 shots accompanied by an offense that landed 37 shots on goal as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Spokane Chiefs, 4-2, before 3,627 fans at A.O.T.W. Arena on Wednesday night.

Newly acquired forward Max Patterson recorded his first point as a Silvertip and 20th point of the season, and earned the third star honor, as the Tips extended their winning streak to seven games.

UP NEXT: The Western Conference-leading Silvertips head to Kent on Saturday, Dec. 8, to take on the Seattle Thunderbirds at 6:05 p.m. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live).

Silvertips rookie forward Jackson Berezowski gave Everett a 1-0 lead at 17:33 in the first period. Newly acquired forward Max Patterson recorded his first point as a Silvertip on the play as Berezowski collected a Patterson rebound in front of the crease and wristed it past Spokane goaltender, Bailey Brkin.

Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf remained a perfect 11/11 on saves through 20 minutes, while the Tips offensive landed 14 shots in the opening frame.

The Silvertips only allowed six shots in the second period, while the Tips tacked on another two goals extending their lead to 3-0 after two.

Everett 19-year-old forward Bryce Kindopp put the Tips up 2-0 at 1:47. Wolf played the puck behind the net to defenseman Artyom Minulin, who hit Kindopp with a beautiful tape-to-tape stretch pass, giving Kindopp an open breakaway to roof one glove side.

Spokane winger Jake McGrew took a crosschecking penalty at 14:48, which lead to an Everett power play goal just 23 seconds into the penalty. Kindopp fed Connor Dewar at the point, who sent the puck over to defenseman Jake Christiansen who sent a laser wrister past Brkin, extending the Silvertips lead to 3-0.

A scrum after the second period horn granted three roughing penalties to Everett (Khaira, Butt and Richards) and two minors against Spokane (Zummack x2).

The Chiefs capitalized on the man advantage and cut the Everett lead to 3-1 at 0:48 into the third. Spokane forward Ethan McIndoe scored from the left circle where he received a cross-ice pass from Riley Woods set up by Luc Smith.

Spokane capitalized on another man advantage following an Everett defenseman Gianni Fairbrother roughing penalty at 8:46. Chiefs Woods cut the Tips lead to 3-2 after he picked up a loose puck in front of a jam-packed crease McIndoe and Ty Smith recorded assists on the play.

The Silvertips extended their lead at 18:25 Richards netted an empty net off an assist from Riley Sutter.
