Regina Pats News Release
Week in Review:
February 11th, 2009 Swift Current Broncos 6 @ Regina Pats 3
The week began this last Wednesday with the Broncos paying a visit to the Brandt Centre. Swift Current took an early 1-0 lead just 1:58 into the first, only to have Colten Teubert tie it just over three minutes later. The blue and white were down 4-2 heading into the third, then Matt Strueby's 21st of the season cut the lead to one, but two more Bronco goals put the Pats to rest. Travis Yonkman owned the Pats yet again as the blue and white out shot the Broncos 39-27.
February 13th, 2009 Regina Pats 2 @ Moose Jaw Warriors 4
The fifth meeting of this great highway one rivalry saw the Warriors win for the first time this season. They got shorthanded goals by Cody Smuk and Martin Filo, which was the difference in the game. The Pats did get a shorthanded goal by Jordan Eberle (his 3rd shg) and Brett Leffler also picked up his 30th goal of the season.
February 14th, 2009 Calgary Hitmen 5 @ Regina Pats 2
The Regina Pats put in one of their best efforts of the season against the WHL's top team, the Calgary Hitmen, but it wasn't enough in a 5-2 defeat. It was 3-2 until late in the game when the Hitmen scored a pair of late goals (one empty netter) to seal the game. Jordan Eberle scored yet again, which was his 30th of the season and 100th career WHL goal, while Mitch Czibere picked up a power play marker.
