Rogers Fan Camp Winners Announced

Brandon, Manitoba -- Four teams and over fifty youngsters have been chosen to attend the 4th Annual Rogers Fan Camp on Monday, February 23rd at Westman Communications Group Place. The teams will be split into several groups and will run through a series of drills and skills from 5-6:30 p.m. Joining them will be members of the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings, who continue a 3-game road trip Tuesday night in Swift Current against the third place Broncos.

The four winning teams - all under the age of ten - that will be attending include Murray Chev Cadillac Kings, the Virden Novice Oil Kings, Canadian Tire Sabres and the Boissevain Atom East Border Kings.

The training will be coordinated by Wheat Kings' assistant coaches Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Darren Ritchie as well as veteran members of the WHL club including captain Keith Aulie and veterans Matt Lowry, Andrew Clark and Brayden Schenn.

In addition to the on ice training, the future Wheat Kings will receive a poster, courtesy of Rogers, an opportunity to meet members of the team; get their autographs and have dinner with their hockey heroes. As well, all of the players will receive complimentary tickets to Brandon's March 6th game against the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

On the ice, the Wheat Kings kicked off this week's road trip Sunday night with a 4-1 victory over the Raiders in Prince Albert. Matt Calvert scored two goals, including the game winner for the Wheat Kings, who moved back to within six points of the Eastern Division leading Saskatoon Blades. Jay Fehr and Colby Robak also scored for the Wheat Kings, who outshot the Raiders to the tune of 50-23.

Brandon's next home game is this Saturday night when the Broncos pay a visit to Westman Place. Tickets will go back on sale at the Keystone Centre box office on Tuesday morning. Fans can also order by phone at 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca.
