Pats Head to Moose Jaw for Friday Night Tilt

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats head down highway one for a matchup against the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Pats are coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday, beginning their first of three games this week with a victory on home ice. The Pats completed their largest comeback of the season, as they trailed 3-0 after one frame. Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A), Tanner Howe and Zane Rowan (tying goal) scored for the Pats, while Drew Sim made 26 saves for his 13th win of the season, and his seventh straight victory. The final shots were even 29-29. The Pats were 0-3 on the power play and 3-4 on the penalty kill.

Their shootout win on Wednesday was their first shootout victory since February 5, 2020 Saskatoon (3-2 SOW). The Pats are now winners of eight of their last 10 contests.

Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Warriors are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday at home. The Warriors trailed 5-0 in the third before getting late goals from Robert Baco and Harper Lolacher. Jackson Unger got the start, allowing five goals on 34 shots. The final shots were 35-34 for Moose Jaw. They went 0-2 on the power play and 1-1 on the penalty kill.

They have now lost their last two games after falling to Medicine Hat 6-3 on Saturday on the road. The Warriors have now dropped three of their last four games since Dec. 4 against Calgary (17GF-18GA). They've also dropped three of their last five home contests.

HEADLINES

Zack Stringer will make his season debut tonight after missing the last 39 Pats games, with is last game being on April 1, 2022. The Lethbridge, Alta. product had 18 points (10G-8A) in 27 games last season, as the Pats went 14-11-2 when Stringer was in the lineup last season and 12-4-2 over their last 18 games with Stringer playing.

The Regina Pats have won eight of their last 10 games since Nov. 25, outscoring their opponents 45-to-35 during that time. The Pats have picked up wins over Vancouver (3-0), Victoria (9-5), Kelowna (OT, 6-5), Prince George (5-1) and Edmonton (8-2), Prince Albert (3-2), Calgary (5-2) & Spokane (SOW, 4-3) over that stretch. Their only losses have been 9-3 to Kamloops and 6-1 to Winnipeg.
