
Pats go down in a shoot out

Brandon, Manitoba -- For the second game in a row, the Regina Pats were defeated by way of the shoot-out. Tonight it was at Westman Communications Group Place in Brandon, 4-3 to the Wheat Kings.
Scoring for the Pats was 20 year old defenceman Matt Delahey, 20 year old forward Brett Leffler and 18 year old rookie defenceman Brandon Davidson, who picked up his first of the pre-season. Damien Ketlo got the start between the pipes, while Derek Tendler played the second half of the game, including the shoot-out.
The Pats had a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes to play, only to see the Wheat Kings score twice to hold a 3-2 edge heading into the final session. After overtime was finished, the two teams needed a 6 round shoot-out, Brett Leffler scored for the Pats, Aaron Lewadniuk replied for the Wheatties, with rookie forward Michael Ferland notching winner.
The Pats were outshot 23-22 and fall to 0-2-0-2 for the season.
The Blue and White will play their first home game of the exhibition season on Wednesday night. The Wheatties will pay a visit to the Brandt Centre, puck will drop at 7pm.
Tickets for Wednesday night's game are available through Ticketmaster at 543-7800, or can be purchased at the box office in the east end of the âDome.
