Pats Begin Three Game Alberta Road Trip in Lethbridge

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (16-20-0-1) begin their three game Albert road trip against the Lethbridge Hurricanes (16-18-2-1) at the Enmax Centre at 8:00 p.m., Central Time.

The Pats are coming off a 5-4 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre, where the Pats lost a 2-1 and 4-3 lead. Kyle Crnkovic scored the tying goal late in the second and the game winner on the power play with under two minutes to play in the third.

Connor Bedard and Cole Dubinsky scored twice while Ryker Evans, Stanislav Svozil and Logan Nijhoff tallied two assists. Drew Sim left the game late in the first period with a lower body injury as he stopped eight of nine prior to departing. Matthew Kieper came in and played over 40 minutes, allowing four goals on 22 shots in the loss. The Pats went 1-3 on the power play while the Blades went 4-5 on the penalty kill. The final shots were 31-30 Saskatoon.

The Pats have lost their last three games coming into tonight's action.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes ended a two-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 5-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos at the Enmax Centre. Five different goal scorers lit the lamp in the win, including Justin Hall who scored his team-leading 21st goal for the game winner. It was just the fifth time this season the 'Canes had five different goal scorers. Lethbridge outshot Swift Current 35-23 in the game while going 0-3 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill.

The Hurricanes are 4-5-1 over their last 10 games but have dropped three of their last four home games, and now sit with a 10-7-2-1 home record versus their 6-11-0-0 road record. They are two points ahead of the Pats in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Pats last played the Hurricanes on Nov. 24 at the Enmax Centre, with Connor Bedard scoring the overtime winner in a 3-2 win. Season series is now 1-1. That win also snapped a six game skid against the Hurricanes. The Pats are 2-8-0 against the Hurricanes over their last 10 meetings and 2-3 over the last five road games in Lethbridge.

The Pats have six players on the injured list heading into a three game Alberta road trip, as Drew Sim, Adam McNutt, Jake Johnson, Zack Stringer and Zane Rowan are out...2006-born forward Jaxsin Vaughan and 2005-born goaltender Kelton Pyne will join the team for the trip.
