Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (28-19) defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (16-33) 3-1 before 6,601 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

The Patriots took the lead in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Scott Kelly.

The Blue Crabs knotted up the game in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Charlie Valerio.

Somerset regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning on a two-run double by Ramon Flores that put the Patriots up 3-1, which would be the final.

Liam O'Sullivan (3-3) picked up the win, allowing a run on seven hits and six strikeouts in seven innings pitched.

"I've just been locating pitches and having all four of my pitches for strikes," said O'Sullivan of his performance. "It keeps hitters off balance, and when I have that, I can really do what I want out there."

Craig Stem (4-3) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in seven innings pitched.

Mike Antonini earned his league-leading 18th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning pitched.

The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 7:05 pm game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Saturday, June 15th. The game features Post Game Fireworks and a special Women In Baseball Jersey Auction presented by Somerset Health Care Foundation. For tickets, stop by the box office located at TD Bank Ballpark, call (908) 252-0700, or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
