
Patriots Take 3-1 Win over Revolution

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the York Revolution 3-1 before 6,484 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.
The Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Dan DeGeorge led off with a double, moved to third on a single by Joe Holden, and scored on an RBI groundout by Jonny Tucker. Holden would eventually score on a sacrifice fly by Jeff Nettles and Yunesky Sanchez added an RBI single later in the inning.
The Revolution got their lone run on a solo home run by Andres Perez (5) in the ninth for the 3-1 final.
Patriots starter Roy Merritt (4-1) pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just one run for the win. Omar Javier (0-5) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in four innings pitched. Josh Rupe earned his ninth save of the season.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Sunday with a 1:05 pm game against the Revolution. The game includes a Father's Day Celebration and Prostate Cancer Awareness Day presented by Somerset Medical Center Foundation. The first 1,000 Men in attendance will receive a BBQ Apron.
