
Patriots Double up Skeeters in First Game of Double Header

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 4-2 in game one of a double-header at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening. The double-header was scheduled due to a rain out the night before.
The Skeeters took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first on a solo homerun to center by Josh Pressley (7).
Somerset rallied to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a three run homerun to left field by Eddy Martinez-Esteve (2). Later in the inning, James Skelton drove an RBI single to right to bring home another run and make the score 4-1.
Sugar Land scored in the sixth after an error by the catcher allowed Adam Godwin to score to cut the lead to 4-2.
Patriots starter Paul Phillips (4-1) got the win after allowing two runs in 5.2 innings while striking out five batters. Sugar Land starter Adam Miller (1-2) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs on seven hits in four innings of work. Jon Hunton came on to record his 14th save of the season.
