Skeeters Drop Both Games of Double-Dip 4-2 and 2-1

On Saturday Night, the Skeeters lost both games of a double-header, losing Game 1 by a score of 4-2 and Game 2 by a final of 2-1. With the loss, the Skeeters who began the season 29-6 are now in a dead heat with the Somerset Patriots, a top the Freedom Division. In game one the Skeeters received a homerun by Josh Pressley and lead 1-0 in the first, but a three-run homer by Eddy Martinez-Esteve would by the difference in a 4-2 loss. In Game 2 Jake Fox's first inning homer gave Somerset the early 1-0 lead, but Dominic Ramos hit a solo shot of his own in the fifth, to tie it at 1-1. A sac fly by Corey Smith in the sixth though was the difference, as the Patriots go on to win by the final of 2-1 and sweep the double-head from the Skeeters.

Up Next: In Game 3 the final game of this three game set, Sugar Land tries to avoid the sweep, as they send out RHP Matt Wright (6-0, 2.55) vs. RHP Josh Lowey (5-2, 3.68) for Somerset.
