
Patriots Complete Sweep of Sugar Land in Double Header

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 2-1 before 8,109 fans in game two of a double-header at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening.
The Patriots broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom half of the sixth inning after Corey Smith drove a sacrifice fly to center that brought home Jonny Tucker and put Somerset on top 2-1.
Somerset jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first on a solo homerun by Jake Fox (15).
Sugar Land evened the score at one in the fifth on a solo homerun by Dominic Ramos (7).
Patriots reliever Jason Lowey (3-0) got the win after striking out two in an inning of work. Skeeters reliever Roberto Giron (1-1) suffered the loss after allowing the go ahead run. Jon Hunton came on to pick up his second save of the day and his 15th of the season.
