Regina Pats News Release

The Week That Was

Tuesday, November 20th - Pats 3 @ Cougars 4 SO

Lane Scheidl came up big early in Tuesday's game with a pair of goals to give the Pats a 2-0 lead. The Cougars came roaring back to tie the game in the second and send things to the third all square at three. The final period solved nothing, neither did overtime. Scheidl scored again in the Shootout, but it wasn't enough as the Cougars put two pucks behind Matt Hewitt to take the 4-3 shootout win.

Wednesday, November 21st - Pats 2 @ Kamloops 1 OT

Teagan Sacher was impressive again for the Pats as he stole the show against the WHL leading Blazers. Sacher stopped 40 pucks in the Pats 2-1 OT victory against Kamloops. Lane Scheidl scored a powerplay goal in the third to force overtime and a second marker in the extra frame for the winner.

Friday, November 23rd - Pats 1 @ Kelowna 5

The Rockets jumped on the Pats early to the tune of a 3-0 lead after one period. J.T. Barnett struck twice for the first two goals of his WHL career. The Pats fought back into the game when Lane Scheidl scored his fifth goal in three games. The Rockets put the Pats out of contention in the third period with a pair of goals early in the period to cruise to a 5-1 win.

Quote of the Week

"We're just scratching and clawing. We've played like tigers for three of the games. The game that I thought was a real stinker was the one in P.G. Even though we took it to the shootout we were very fortunate to get it there from our goaltending (Matt Hewitt stopped 37 of 40 shots). The other games, I know the shots (by opponents) more than doubled us, but I thought we did a good job defending. The quality of chances were down just because of the way we were playing." - Pat Conacher on the Pats play on the road (Courtesy Greg Harder - Leader Post)

The Week Ahead

Friday, November 30th - Pats @ Prince Albert

The big road trip may be in the books with the Pats taking six out of ten points, but they still have one road test remaining. The Pats head north to face off with the Raiders for the second time this season. The Pats took a 4-1 win from Prince Albert in the first meeting at the Brandt Centre.

Saturday, December 1st- Spokane @ Pats

The Chiefs play the second game of their East Division road swing in the Brandt Centre. Regina native and former Pat Canadian Tyson Predinchuk plays his first game in the Brandt Centre for Spokane.

Sunday, December 2nd - Prince Albert @ Pats

The Pats third game in three nights and it's a rematch with the Raiders. With a sweep of the home-and-home, the Pats could make up some solid ground on the East Division leaders.
