Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK - Chan Ho Park earned his redemption Thursday, but Randy Keisler earned the win.
Making his first start at The Dell Diamond, Park scattered five hits on four strikeouts and two walks over six innings, allowing three runs in his second loss, a 6-1 decision handed down by Memphis. Round rock has now dropped eight of its last nine games.
The outing was a much-needed rebound from Park's last when the 14-year Major League veteran gave up five first-inning runs and lasted just three innings against Albuquerque on June 16.
Despite Park's improvement, Round Rock's bats couldn't answer against Keisler, who allowed just one earned run for his second consecutive start. The left-hander fanned eight on three strikeouts and six hits, allowing his only run on three hits in the sixth inning.
Danny Klassen went 2-for-3 for the Express, and Josh Anderson's 15-game hitting streak ended with an 0-4 night. His run marked the second-best in franchise history.
Park walked Mike McCoy to start the game and allowed McCoy to score the game's first run on a wild pitch two outs later. Park issued another walk and tossed another wild pitch in the second inning, but it was McCoy's single that pushed the Redbirds ahead 2-0.
Rico Washington homered to center with one down and nobody on in the top of the fourth before the Express got on the board.
Jason Lane singled through the middle and Danny Klassen followed up with a single to right. After Cody Ransom's fly-out to right field moved Lane to third, Mark Saccomanno singled him home.
But Memphis tagged two more runs on in the ninth against reliever Miguel Asencio, putting the game out of reach.
The two meet for the third and final game of the series Friday at 7:05 p.m. at The Dell Diamond. The game can be heard live on 1530 AM, 1260 AM and at www.roundrockexpress.com. Post-game fireworks will immediately follow Friday's game.
