Palmyra Medical Center host Military Appreciation Night

ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats and Palmyra Medical Center are proud to announce that Palmyra will be the game sponsor for the Wildcats July 16 game against the Birmingham Steeldogs. Kickoff is set for 7:30.

Palmyra Medical Center will also host Military Appreciation Night. A special ceremony will take place on the field as Colonel John Lopez of the Marine Corps Logistics Base of Albany will swear in 60 Marine and Air Force recruits. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Marine Base American Legion from surrounding communities across southwest Georgia will also be in attendance. The Marine Corps will also set up displays of armored Military cars and trucks in the Albany Civic Center parking lot.

Participating in the pre-game ceremonies will be Mayor Willie Adams, Palmyra Medical Center CEO Bud Wethington and Colonel John Lopez. Mr. Adams will conduct the coin toss and Mr. Wethington and Col. Lopez will participate in the delivery of the first ball. Performing the National Anthem will be the winner of Palmyra Medical Center's Albany Idol Contest and the runner-up will perform God Bless America.

The Wildcats look to extend their win streak with a victory over the Steeldogs. Next week the Wildcats will travel up Interstate 75 as they take on in-state rival the Macon Knights on Saturday, July 23. South Georgia will return to the Albany Civic Center for their final home game of the regular season against the Green Bay Blizzard on Saturday, July 30.
