MOOSIC, PA - Daniel Palka drove in a season high six runs as the Worcester Red Sox (25-25) took the penultimate game of their six-game series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (24-26) by an 11-7 final from PNC Field on Saturday afternoon.

Worcester's first run came in the second inning when Ryan Fitzgerald drew a walk with the bases loaded. Palka then ripped a two-run single up the middle to make it 3-0. Two batters later, David Hamilton pulled an RBI single into right field to put the WooSox on top 4-0.

Wilyer Abreu led off the fourth inning with a solo shot. After walks to Jorge Alfaro and Bobby Dalbec, Palka crushed a three-run homer to give Worcester an 8-0 lead.

Dalbec blasted an opposite-field home run in the fifth inning. It was Dalbec's sixth home run over his last 11 games.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth. Jesus Bastidas hit a three-run home run. Later in the inning, Oswald Peraza lifted a two-run shot over the left-field fence to make it a 9-5 ballgame.

The WooSox responded by plating a pair in the sixth thanks to run-scoring singles from Fitzgerald and Palka.

Palka's 6-RBI performance matches the most RBIs in a game in WooSox history. Enmanuel Valdez drove in six runs at PNC Field against the RailRiders on August 12, 2022.

In the bottom of the seventh, an Estevan Florial double cut the deficit to 11-6. Later in the inning, Florial scored on a wild pitch to make it 11-7.

In his second start of the season, Jake Faria went 4.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits. The right-hander walked three and struck out five.

The WooSox wrap up their series with the RailRiders tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. Left-hander Matt Dermody is scheduled to make the start for Worcester. Radio coverage begins at 12:45 p.m. on 98.9 Nash Icon and the rest of the WooSox Radio Network.
