Pair of Three-Run Homers Can't Overcome Beloit

Peoria, Ill. - In an offensive explosion that saw 23 runs scored between the two teams, the Chiefs fell to Beloit 15-8 on Saturday.

The Snappers jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings before Malcom Nunez got the Chiefs on the board with a two-run single to make it 8-2.

Beloit led 10-2 when Leandro Cedeno hit a three-run blast to make it 10-5. Cedeno extended his on-base streak to 16 games with the homer. He finished with two hits in the contest.

Moises Castillo hit Peoria's second three-run homer in the ninth, his first as a member of the Chiefs.

The Snappers collected 16 hits in the contest and Troy Johnston hit for the cycle. It was the first cycle at Dozer Park since Alek Thomas did it for Kane County in 2019.

The Chiefs will finish up their series with Beloit tomorrow at 1:35 p.m.on Father's Day. The first 500 fans will receive a fanny pack, courtesy of IT360. Nick Trogrlic-Iverson will make his second start of the series for Peoria. He will once again oppose Zach King for Beloit.

June single game tickets are now on sale! Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Friday's from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The box office will be closed for lunch daily between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tickets for July, August and September will be available at a later time.
