Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks continue to build strength in the trenches, as the team announced Tuesday that offensive lineman Jesse Padilla has been added to the 2012 roster.
A native of Hawthorne, NJ, Padilla (6'4", 300) was a three-sport athlete in high school before attending Lafayette College. Padilla saw immediate action for the Leopards, appearing in two games as a freshman during the 2004 season.
The 25-year-old Padilla broke out in a big way during his junior year, starting every game at right tackle before being named to the 2006 All-Patriot League Second Team. The following year, Padilla capped his collegiate career by earning Football Championship Subdivision Coaches' All-America honors in 2007. In 2008, Padilla spent time in training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The ArenaBowl XXIV and back-to-back South Division Champions are presented by Sea Best Seafood and play all home games on Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Season Tickets for the 2012 season are now available, two tickets as low as $135. To reserve your season tickets or for more information, please call (904) 621-0700.
