NEW ORLEANS (October 11, 2011) - The New Orleans VooDoo were assigned former All-Big Sky defensive lineman John Eddy, announced the team on Tuesday morning.

"John is a very talented prospect that comes highly rated by many pro scouts," said head football coach Pat O'Hara. "I'm very excited to have him on our team, and looking forward to seeing what he can do in camp."

Eddy (6'4" 240 lbs., Northern Colorado) was a three-time All-Big Sky Conference performer at Northern Colorado, racking up a total of 234 tackles (120 solo) that included 39 tackles for a loss, 21 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 4 pass break ups. Eddy played in 40 career games, averaging 5.85 tackles per game for his career.

The Greeley, Colo. native prepped at Greeley Central High School (Greeley, Colo.) where he played on both sides of the ball - including running back. He was selected to the Rocky Mountain News' All-State team as a senior.
